BIOS Problem Wth Boot Sequence

I have a machine with Windows XP and a separate CD player and DVD player in it. I want to do a fresh install of Windows 7 on it and I went into the BIOS boot sequence and don't see an option where I can make the DVD player the 1st bootable device. It shows the CD as an option but not the DVD. I have tried to boot to the CD with the DVD in the DVD player but no luck. Any words of wisdom would be appreciated.

  1. restart your pc and there will be an option of boot menu.mainly f12 or may vary with your cpu
select boot from cdrom and press enter....
    u should be fine there..
  2. You might try swapping the cable connections on the two drives...

Thanks for the help. I had already tried that and it didn't work. I pressed the F12 keys and tried to boot to cdrom drive an no luck.
  4. its under the boot device priority menu...make cd-rom 1st....to decide which opty drive to use it will be under boot menu and select correct one. f10--->enter...insert disc and off you go
