Noob overclocking i-7

I am new to overclocking although I have been reading about it and have run a few attempts I still wanted to ask a few questions.

Intel i-7 950 3.06GHz
Noctua NH-D14
Gigabyte X58A UD5
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 12GB (3 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)

The normal bus speed is at 133 and i upped it to 157 to get a 3.6GHz which is all I've attempted.
The RAM is supposed to be ran at 8-8-8-24 but when i moved the bus speed it obviously increased that to 10-10-10-29

Is this ok? What else should I do? Or will this slow the ram speed?

Enter the memory timings manually, or use XMP profile if they support it, and you should be able to run them at their rated speed.

What you have currently, is indeed slower than what they could be running at.

I was using the XMP settings but when i increased the bus to overclock it also increased the ram speeds too.

In the BIOS look for Memory Frequency and adjust it to 10.
