Question about ram

hi i have a gigabyte ep45t-ud3p mobo with 2 ram slots empty. in the other 2 i have 2 sticks of ddr3 ocz platnum 1333mhz 1Gb each (1Gb+1Gb). now i want to upgrade to 6gb. i saw some ram deals wich are on ocz intel extreme xmp ram which have the same clocks of 7-7-7-20 and same speed as i have but are in 2Gb+2Gb format. can i hook them together with the other 1+1gb of ram to get 6gb in all?

Yes, your motherboard supports 8 GB.
You may have to increase the memory voltage and relax the timings and increase Northbridge voltage with 4 sticks and that much memory.

you need a 64 bit os to use that much ram

the timings and voltage should be fine unless you are overclocking

yes oki then thank you for ur answers i have 64bit os with vista. one last thing currently i have 2 gb as i already said and when i close it takes about a minute to come normally to desktop ( sort of crashes everything). is that because of the ram or hard disk coz i have a Q9650?
