From what I understand since intel does not support sata 3 yet boards come with a different controller for it.
I have the rampage 3 formula board and plan on using sata 3.

My question is is it necessary/optimal to use Intel rts drivers "f6" or is that not possible because the drive will be used as sata 3?

These questions might be noob, but I don't wana wreck anything, and the crucial forums are a bit sparse.
Thanks.

The sata III (6) controllers are a 3rd party controller such as the marval controller and the sata II controller is an intel chipset normally. You can not use the Intel AHCI driver, so no F6, just install using the default uSoft AHCI driver.
