Is it possible to mount a
Xigmatek Intel Core i7 compatible THOR'S HAMMER HDT-S126384 CPU Cooler
to an
ASUS P7P55D EVO LGA 1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel Motherboard?

Intel changed the positions of the fastener holes,
so be sure that the fasteners line up with the
new hole positions.

... I would say NO, that HSF will NOT work
because the backing plate does not line up
with the LGA1156's fastener holes.

Specs say:
All Intel Socket 775 CPU
All Intel Socket 1366 CPU
(no mention of Socket 1156 CPU)

I really like the Thor's Hammer because it got a best of 2009 award by Tom's Hardware.
