maybe, but go for the wd 1TB caviar black, it'll be faster but just a bit more expensive.

also if you can stretch £50 I'd go for an i7 build with a £800 budget. £250(i7 920 non-D0) + £165(ASUS P6T SE) + £55 (3gb of 1600mhz ram) + £60 (WDC Black 640GB) + £92 (vista64) + £72 (4830) + £48(SilverPower Green 500w, just as good as corsair 550) + £50 antec 300

Shipping would be free at scan since if you buy that P6T you get free shipping on your whole cart.

The 640gb vs the 1tb for preformance sake should be the same. There both 320gb platters. The con's the 1TB has is it has a third plater which means more heat and noise and of course costs more. The con for the 640 is its storage size is not as big as the 1tb.

Something to note when compairing hard drives:
higher density = higher performance
lower platter count = less noise/heat
newer tech = higher preformance (ussualy)

The 500gb i believe is 2 250 gig platters. Don't quote me on that though.

hmmm... Helloworld, I don't really think I want that, because I want to stick with the 4850 as I'm really using my PC for gaming, and u don't really think something like an i7 is really necessary. Do you think I should go with xfx or sapphire or something , or does it not matter?

AMD Phenom II X3 Tri Core 720 and sli 4850 could easily beat an i7 with a nvidia 260 and should cost less.

Stick with the 720 and in future get another 4850

check out their warranties whoever has a better warranty go for it. XFX I think has lifetime warranty regardless if you overclock it or not.
