Hi, i was wondering if someone could maybe help me and build me a cheap media server which i could use to watch movies and play music on? I would like it to be able to play 1080p content without stuttering and also have HDMI output. My budget is around 400$

Sorry to ask but i am new at building these custom PC's so i would like some help if possiable. Also i live in canada so please use either newegg.ca or nicx.com.

Thanks, help would be appreciated :lol:

Building a PC for job is ok IF your going to be using it for other things but for size, noise,power consumption your best off with one of these:

https://www.tvix.co.kr/Eng/products/HDM6500A.aspx

This is number one media box

number two:

web1%5B2%5D.jpg

http://www.hantech.ca/product/product_detail.asp?M=1&S=2&bCateName=MARKUS&CATEID=00020003

This is the one i have it plays all video,audio and does pictures it has a 1tb hd for that price and a remote
Its very small, very quiet takes VERY little power.

It can steam also and is portable so you can take it on trips and vacations.

@affinity and tomslick,

BD-ROM 2x isn't high enough for blu-ray movies, I think the agreed max standard is 4x. and also CAD not USD

I think you should get a WDTV and a 750GB external hard drive since that would do the job.
