Windows xp installed on both partitions of harddrive

Hello, i had to format my pc and my hdrive is partitioned into 2. while formatting xp got installed on the wrong part so i repeated the format and installation on the corrct drive. now i cant seem to remove the xp from the wrong partition. and upon start-up everytime, i have to choose from which xp i want to run on. this is causing big problems. please help!

You shouldn't have to choose anything. The high lighted one will be the last one installed, though you may have to wait 30 seconds for it to activate. You can delete the incorrect logical partition using disk management in administrative tools, or use 3rd party software.

I would say if the drive is empty then format the drive by using Bootable Disk.
