Suggestions for RAID card

Anyone have any suggestions for a good RAID card that is better than the built in Intel ICH10R on the Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 motherboard?
I have 3 Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB hard drives (32mb cache) and would like to get the most out of them.
I'm guessing the card needs to have its own processing unit and built-in memory (>128 or 256mb of RAM).
Price wise I would like to keep it under ~$500
