Long time Lurker, first time Poster.
I am looking to build a system primarily for gaming, but also for general usage. Internet browsing, Skype Calls, Music holder...
Most of my gaming I believe will end up being Left 4 dead, And TF2...
I'd prefer gaming at 1680x1050 if possible, but If I can't get the necessary performance, I'll settle for 1400x900
I think I'll go 64bit Vista
$99.99: 64 bit Vista, OEM
SAMSUNG Spinpoint 500GB Hard Drive - OEM

$38.99
Microsoft Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000 - Retail

19.99
SAMSUNG Black 22X DVD

$25.99
Already have a mouse...
And that leaves $600 for Case, Motherboard, Cpu, Power supply, Monitor, And whatever cables I may need.
I'm tempted to get a dirt cheap power supply and motherboard to try and squeeze in a nice monitor, cpu, and video card but I really don't have much experience with balancing such a budget. This is a Hard limit on price (800 would be ideal but I think every dollar makes a big difference at this pricepoint)
Noise and power consumption is not an issue. I don't plan to do any overclocking.
Any suggestions would be great! thanks in advance
