How do I delete mail in outlook express outbox

I have a message in my outbox that is too big to send {mea culpa, wasn't paying attention} and now it is messing with all my outgoing as it keeps trying to send. I've hilited only the listing to delete, nothing,,,I've selected all and hit delete, nothing. How do I get rid of this message that is never going to be sent, please?
