That says it all... Can you run 3 of these together to net some wicked speed for $300?

I don't see why not.

I'm not sure how well it would scale though.. There may be better options at this price point as the limited scaling of triple crossfire comes into play.

What is the best way to get the most performance from a $300 investment in graphics cards these days....

Well considering 2 4770's pretty much draw with $300 cards you'd have to say 3 4770's for $300 will be the best investment, probably by a decent margin although 2x4870's or 2xgtx260's might be close.

You will lose more on that 3rd card, the question is how much. If you decide to 3-way them let us know how it works out.

Yea, I'd say 2x4870 should be the better option due to limited scaling, but who knows.
