Machine crash

Hello,
Just had a complete machine failure so had to delete all partions on HD then formatted it. It worked fine in an external drive so put it back in computer. Ran windows 7 disk, it loads then get to 'start installation' and stops saying 'where do you want to install' It does not display anyhard drives in the box and asks at the bottom for a mass storage driver, I have tried all sorts of things. I would be gratful of any help. Cheers

put the HDD back in the external enclosure.
Download and install Killdisk.
Run Killdisk on THAT HDD.
Re-install the HDD in the PC.
Re-install OS.
