iAA's manual is there:
http://download.intel.com/support/chipsets/iaa/manual2.pdf
and the E7501 there:
http://www.intel.com/Products/Server/Chipsets/E7501/E7501-overview.htm
and the 82801ca:
http://www.intel.com/Assets/PDF/datasheet/290733.pdf

At least the variant with integrated graphics, 845mz with 82801cam, is a valid target for the iAA, but I didn't see the variant without integrated graphics.

Did you use Intel's InfInst before the iAA? Even more useful, though not as thorough.

The 82801ca or ich3-s has Pata100 ports, not Sata. This interface is fast enough for nearly any present 7200rpm platter.

But the real goodies of this mobo are the Pci-X buses, designed to connect Scsi host controllers, which allow you to use the most recent 15,000rpm disks. Something more convincing than the Sata toys.

You can also find good Raid adapters with some Ram and four P-Ata ports, and then put four slc CF cards in Raid-0 there: nice for booting!
