Help, Cant Boot!

Hey everyone,
Just assembled my first computer! hurrah.

Noooow when i push the power button, the fans spin, the LED light comes on for two seconds, and then everything stops. Working now to hook up speakers, see if i get any noises (i hear this tells you something)

Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated...

external speakers won't do you any good, you need a small motherboard/case speaker that goes inside of your case.

I noticed, however, that when i hit the power button, the PSU fan does not turn on...does this point toward a faulty PSU? i get case fans to spin VERY briefly, and an LED flashes on the front of the case.

The motherboard has a standby LED lit up when i flip the PSU to "on"

its an i7 with an evga x58 mobo
