I recently purchased a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS4 motherboard and a Q9650 Quad CPU, but I'm having some serious problems getting the new build to work.

Here's the problem: When I install the Q9650 and boot the system up, all fans work except form the cpu fasns and the leds light up permantly.I don't any beep and i don't see anything on my monitor.
When I install my older CPU (960 3.6 GHZ), the system works just fine. I can get into BIOS and even overclock with no problem.



Here's the other things I've tried:
- Using only 1 stick on RAM (tried all four slots and 4 different RAM chips)
- Upgraded BIOS to F14
- Cleared CMOS, loaded fail-safe defaults

System Specs:
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS4 motherboard
4x1GB Supertalent DDR2 800Mhz Ram
ATI 2600 Graphics Card
Enermax Galaxy 850W Power Supply

Help! Any Ideas?

Is this a brand new rev 2.1 motherboard or a used rev. 1.0 motherboard which doesn't support that CPU?

No It is rev. 2.0 which is compatible with Core 2 Quad Processors but needs flash F14.

I would test the CPU in another motherboard to make sure that it works.

Do you have the 2x4 'extra' ATX 12V power plug in here?

That's a ninety-five watt processor - definitely needs the added power...
