at one time, maybe. Then they (allegedly) heard the story about a million monkeys pounding on typewriters and creating the works of Shakespeare... did the math... decided that 10 monkeys would be enough to write drivers and that bananas were cheaper than a programmer's salary.

Agreed. Creatives driver support = Crap. And I still havn't forgiven them for disabling many of their features for Vista (on purpose), and they now charge you money to re-activate those same features (DDL, etc).
Auzentech and ASUS make far better cards, which are far more stable driver wise. Theres a reason why so many people make modded drivers for Creative, but there are few modded drivers for Auzentech/ASUS.
