why does my hd4890 pick up in 3DMark Vantage as generic VGA
and also any one know what should be the around level or perfmornace in (numbers) of a Phenom II TripleCore 720 in 3DMark Vantage?
just trying to see if i have any problems

Try other programs (like PCWizard or GPU-Z) for info on your card. I don't know for Vantage, but I remember in 3DMark 06 the scanner program didn't correctly detect my 2900XT until after an update (in fact, 3DMark 06 wouldn't even run).
