I have the following parts I am going to get for a new build

i5 2500k
asus p8p67 pro
eVGA 570sc

plus all the other goodies, but my question is on RAM, is CAS latency important, do I want high or low? I see on newegg(where I prob will get this stuff) that there are some of the ripjaw and others that say they were designed for the new i5 and i7 chipsets and mobo's....

guess I would like some suggestions on ram (4gig probobly) that will work good with this processor and mobo.

thanks in advance:)

oh, and OCing may happen, but for now I just want a solid system that works good and plays games flawlessly:)

Speed and latency are both important. Speed is the first thing you want look at. I like 1600MHz RAM because it provides some overhead in overclocking and it is not as expensive as 1800MHz and 2000MHz. After you decide the RAM speed you want, then get the set with the lowest latencies you can afford. I have used and like Corsair and G. Skill, but there are other RAM that are also good.
