Hi. I have an asrock g31m-s MB with a Core 2 Quad Q6600 and installed a 2 GB ram stick rated a 800 MHz and a 1 GB stick also rated 800 MHz, they're from different brands, however in the BIOS and in CUPZ DRAM frequency appears as 667 MHz. How can this be? can they be tweaked to run at 800 MHz?

check the latency timers on the dimms (memory sticks). If they don't match up, then the mobo is defaulting to one of them. If this is the case, you can manually change the timings and speed in the bios.
That's exactly what was happening, different timings. I set the frequency in the BIOS at 800 MHz for both rams but the pc sometimes freezes when loading windows. I'm afraid I'm gonna have to buy another ram with the same brand, speed, size and chip type. Thanks!

You could get it to work if you laxen the timings a bit (raise the timings); if you take the highest timings of the two chips and use those, you should be stable.
