I am looking for a good 5.1 or 7.1 speaker set up (yes, I want speakers not headphones).

Professional reviewers seem to love the Logitech Z-5500 505-Watt 5.1 set. What's comparible price and quality wise?

I own a set. I like them. If you like bass, then youll be happy, as I have my woofer set a lil above 2 on volume settings.
For a pc setup, theyre nice enough. Love the sound while watching a movie, and of course while gaming.
Theres others out there in the same price range, some may be a lil more exact in reproduction, and others may have a wider range also, but Ill take my bass, because its there when I want it, and these speakers can crank as well

I agree, the Logitech Z-5500 is the best in my opinion, at least based on an hour or two listening to my cousin's music through them.

There are lots of equivalent options mentioned in this slightly old thread though, they might pique your interest as well: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/ [...] d-speakers
