I am looking at a Cyberpowerpc Mega Special III with these specs

CPU:(Sckt775)IntelĀ® CoreT 2 Duo E8500 CPU @ 3.16GHz 1333FSB 6MB L2 Cache 64-bit
MEMORY:4GB (2GBx2) PC6400 DDR2/800 Dual Channel Memory
VIDEO:NVIDIA GeForce 9800GT 1GB

The Nvidia GTS 250 1GB is $30 more. I am looking for the best performance for the cheapest price. Which should I go with, 9800GT OR GTS 250?

Hey Javamonsoon,
If you look at the memory bandwith on the 9800 is 57.6, while the bandwith the 250 is 70.4 almost 20% better. Which translates into better frame rates in games. Now this is not going to be a 20% gain (in game), but it could be the difference in what settings you are using when playing and approximately 10% better benchmarks.

fester is right. It's worth thr upgrade to the GTS 250. I've used both cards and notice the difference on a 22" monitor.

Here's an EVGA GTS 250 for $119.

well tom's advice is to make an upgrade on gpu that is at least three tiers higher than your current gpu..

if your gpu right now is 9800gt.. you've got to upgrade to a gtx280.. to notice the increase in performance..
:D
