Dvd drive is not detecting by the bios

If it is an IDE drive, ensure the jumper on it is set to Master. Place the drive on it's separate IDE cable (no HDD or other CD rom on same cable).
If it is Sata, it should detect it. Try switching the Sata ports on the mobo by plugging into a different port every time.
In any case, make sure the drive has the power cable properly connected at both ends.
