To me the MSI looks better on paper, but I really don't know much about motherboards, hence the reason I am asking here
The rest of the system is as follows:
Ram: 2x 2Gb Kingston DDR2 800Mhz/1333Mhz (The MSI supports 1333Mhz)
CPU: E7400 2.8Ghz Core2Duo
GFX: Chaintech Nvidia Geforce 9800GT 512Mb DDR3
The purpose of the machine is for gaming, I know its not the best but this is my budget and what is available at local stores. If there is another motherboard that is substantially better in this price range, I could try and source it down
MSI is an atx with no onboard video, so be sure your case will fit it. The Intel boards are ok if not overclocking. I use newegg's combo specials as a final arbitrator if I don't have any special needs, just a basic board.
OK, I would get the Intel G43 board with its free integrated graphics. Comes in handy sometimes when you have to diagnose video issues.
Next, the E7400 uses a 1066 FSB. This means that the ram you buy only needs to run at DDR2-533 speed. Given the Intel board, you will not be overclocking. So DDR2-800 memory downclocked to 533 will work great.
IF you will be overclocking the cpu, then get the MSI board. DDR2-800 memory is still faster than you will need. DO NOT get 1066 or 1333 memory.
Thank you very much I don't plan on over clocking no. I just didn't want to hear after I purchase it that it's a terrible board.. I will be going with the G43
