I think my graphics card is faulty and this is why: I have an Inno 3d 9800gtx+ dht. When i install the drivers restart it everything seems fine until you notice little dots on the desktop here and there as if its failing to produce the proper color/picture. The nvidia control panel preview looks fuzzy (its got flashy spots like it cant maintain a smooth picture). And lets not forget the inevitable freezing of the pc. If i double click on a game(crysis) it reboots. It will always eventually feeze and i have to restart it or it reboots regardless of the fact that its running an application or not. Everything in my pc is brand new. Ive downloaded all sorts of drivers at the nvidia site. Currently using v182.25/5. So we can rule out the driver issue. Ive formated the hdd to no avail. Please help me with this.

cpu: amd 5600+ @ 2.8ghz
MB: FOXCONN 590sli
psu: corsair Tx650w (+v12 @ 52A)
ram: 2gb
gpu: Inno 3d 9800gtx+ dht
os: windows xp sp2 media centre edition

Have you looked at event logs?? They may only be available in Vista; I'm not sure, but if you google how to get to them on your PC then copy and paste into microsoft support website, they can tell you what happened to your computer when it crashed.

I had an annoying problem which took ages to sort out, turned out I had overloaded a psu rail with fans and when I tried booting a game it crashed (as everything got warmer). You could try that, otherwise there are some very knowledgable peeps that frequent these parts, I'm sure someone will be along to help you.

You show 2GB of ram but didn't list what make? Check to make sure you are running the proper voltage and run a memory test.

To me it sounds like it Would be a problem with the graphics card and not with the processor or memory ram. As fester says make sure your PSU is providing enough watts to properly power your video card along with the computer. Even though you say you have a 650w PSU, something may be broken inside as said before. You may also want to check and make sure your video card is not loose or being moved inside your computer. If the cord that connects your monitor to the video card is being pushed or pulled on it may cause your card to pull out.

If you have anybody that also has a video card, preferably NVidia sense thats what you already have drivers installed for, ask to see if they would be willing to let you use theirs to test. Pop in the new video card and see if you still have the same problems. If worse comes to worse you may need to buy a new video card to test.

I am not familiar with the 9800gtx+ but if the card doesnt vent the heat out the back of your case you may have an over heating problem and may have ruined your video card. The only solution for that is repairing or replacing.

Good Luck

ive already tried 2 other power supplies with even worse results. ive got a freind thats coming over some time this weekend to test if the gpu works on his system & to test if his gpu(8600gts) works on mine. Il also try sending an error report to microsoft & get back to you guys with my findings.

If you have an integrated graphics card on your mother board, like most stock computers, try a quick test and plug your monitor into that and start up your computer. Run your computer as normal through your motherboard and see if your still get the same problem. Like I said before it sounds like a problem with your video card. Which you probably know, trying other power supplies and CPU's are not going to help with that.

Theres a chance that even if it's a new video card it may have become damaged through shipping or installment. I strongly suggest you try another card.
