This an PC enthusiast site, would anybody who reads this site consider reducing performance to save power. I wouldn't.

Neither would I, but I try to get components that aren't too power-hungry, or at least components that provide a great performance-power ratio.

On every laptop I've owned I've always undervolted its CPU until stability can not be maintained. With my HTPC/server which runs 24/7 I do pretty much the same, but not to the last drop.

Then of course there's the extreme overclocking side of me with sub-zero benchmarking... etc.

I like to take everything related to computing that I do to their max. potential, depending on purpose. ;)
