Hey Guys,

I haven't posted on here for ages, and finally come summer, I have an opportunity to build a
new rig (gaming/programming/music/movies/composing)...Last time I checked in January, the i7 920 was a killer CPU at $280. I was set on getting that with an X58 Gigabyte or Asus board, along either a HD4890 or GTX 275. However, my friend told me a few days ago that Intel is PHASING OUT the i7?
What's going on? Should I get the i7 or not? Seems like it came out only 6 months ago...why is Intel moving so fast? It's not like its the Q6600 or anything...My budget was $1500, and with the i7 920 and a ~$200 X58 board, I'd come out around that. If this is true, does this mean i should look to Phenom II? Thought AMD was in the dumps these days...

Enlighten me!

Dx

Annoying french....lol....i really don't like the layout here anymore....but the i7 is safe, so to speak? I can go ahead and get the 920? Is the Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R a good board? It's way cheaper than the others...
