Hi , I'm new ,just joined 5 minutes ago. Anyway I bought a PC in the june of this year mainly for gaming, all of the componenets are pretty evenly balanced, except the hdd.

Here are the specs: WEI Score

HD 5850 1GB DDR5 7.7
AMD Phenom 2 965 X4 3.4GHZ 7.4
4GB DDR3 1600MHZ RAM 7.5
Samsung spinpoint F3 1TB, 32 MB cache, <8.9ms Average seek time, 7200rpm. 5.9
Win 7 Home premium 64 bit

So I'm looking for a new hdd that won't bottleneck my System. Unfounately a SSD is out of the question, as my budget is around 60 pounds sterling. I require 1TB of storage. Any ideas ? (Please note I Live in the UK)

P.S. I currently have a OEM version of Win 7 installed on my Samsung HDD, I have the OEM disc and product key, will I be able to use it to install Win 7 on my new hdd ?

Do not see where you could be getting a bottlenecking from your hdd, rather from your 4g of ram that is only 1g per cpu core, if you are so eager to spend your l$$T, then consider adding more ram,and YES to your ,P.S...installing should be no trouble..:)

The reason I think the hdd is a bottleneck is because of its score of 5.9 in the Windows Experience Index compared with 7.7 for the GPU, 7.4 for the CPU, and 7.5 for the RAM
