First hello, i'm a newbie here. Second, i am just about ready to order my first full computer build. I have done a few doctor things before, such as video card / mb replacement, cpu--heatsink installment, but nothing like a total build.

Finally, i just wanted to throw out what i have picked out so far, and get a quick idea of what you all thought about it. Money isnt really a big deal, i'm just trying to stay within around 1500-1600 on the PC itself, excluding monitor, keyboards and things like that. It also includes Vista HP 64bit.

Just curious about what you guys think, and if ya notice anything critical, thanks! Any input is appreciated.

If you buy by the 23rd, you can get the Corsair 850W for only $10 more after rebate. Provided you are purchasing by then, that's a no-brainer. I wouldn't put Rosewill on my list of "good PSU brands".

The GTX 285 is pretty underwhelming price/performance. You could get a 4870x2 for only $40 more, and it stomps on a 285 pretty good. You can also consider 260s in sli, which is about the same performance as a 4870x2. Which path is best depends on what sort of upgrade path you are planning on your video cards in the future.

You didn't list an aftermarket heatsink. I would highly recommend one of these as you can get great ones for as low as ~$40 and it will greatly improve your OC abilities.

On my current build i use a Rosewill 750W Xtreme and i absolutely love it, but i could just be lucky...so im thinking about getting the Corsair.

As far as gamming goes, the only game with a CryTek engine i will be playing is Aion, and that game handles great with PCs well under these specs. I am not a "top notch gamer", If i want to SLI in the future that is always an option as a easy way to get more out of gaming...

I do not plan to OC anything, and i doubt the stock fan won't be able to keep the i7 cool enough to function properly...not saying it wont be signifigently hotter, but really all the heatsinks out there are gigantic, im not really interested in them, nor do i think they are necessary for this means of usage.

As far as HDD, yes i will have a second down the road, but i only need about 20gb for games i plan to use, 30gb for music, and 20gb for videos, rest for OS, etc. So there will be a 1TB added later.

thank you for responding.
