KVM Issue / Laptop not recognized by Linksys KVM

I've got an issue with a Linksys PS/2 4 port KVM switch
the Laptop I have connected is not being recognized

just using the KVM switch to eliminate an additional keyboard and mouse on my desk

I have the KVM hooked up to my full tower computer which is PS/2 based
and my laptop which doesn't have PS/2 ports - it has USB's instead
so the cable from the KVM to the laptop has PS/2 USB adapters for the mouse and keyboard which is then connected to the laptop USB ports

the full tower computer works well - I can switch from and to it using the KVM Switch but the laptop isn't recognize

anybody dealt / know anything about this sort of a conflict?

are laptops not able to be set up for this?

the laptop is a Dell E1505 that runs well

it does seem likely that's what it is

I'll try to contact Linksys support to see if they can confirm this....
