i just installed the game Cryostasis and i want to know if there's a lot of difference between Shaders 3.0 and 4.0 because the game has an option to change from 3 to 4 shaders. Also this game runs a little bit laggy not too much but its totally smooth.
Whenever i change to shaders 3 it seems to run a little more smoother but i don't know why.

Shouldn't the video card i have play this game on max settings?? I have everything on High with AA On and 16x anthrosophic and 1920x1200 resolution.

I've played Crysis on High settings and looks smoother than this game. Have anyone played this game?
what settings do you ll have?

Specs:
Quadcore Q9550 @ 2.8ghz
Nvidia GTX 260 Core 216 SC
4gb of Ram
Win Vista ultimate 64bit

Simple answer, shader model 4 is newer, features new abilities and allows far more comple instructions to be executed.

The actual answer, christ knows, ask a game programmer.
