Intel Mainstream???

Hi ya, Happy Thanksgiving!

In the market for Intel SSD but i'm a bit confused with these two product and would really appreciate if someone can share some light with me. Thx in advance!

1)Intel X25-M Mainstream SSDSA2MH160G2R5 2.5" 160GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive

I'm pretty sure I'd have heard if Intel made some other "G2" drive than their standard 160GB model. They sell the same drive in various SKU's that designate things like retail vs. non-retail packaging, presence or absence of the 2.5-inch grommet (the drive itself is in a 1.8" enclosure), presence or absence of the 3.5" adapter bracket, etc.

Here's a list of the product codes - unfortunately it doesn't include the "K5"-suffix one you've linked to. But the way the product codes are organized those last two digits are just the packaging options as I described above.

Just spoke to Intel tech support.......
Answer like smimlal stated, they are IDENTICAL drive, just in different packaging.

Ordered mine from newegg, cheaper and comes with $40 rebate (ending today tho).
