Hello, I am currently looking around for parts to build a new rig. I need it to be below 1000 dollars and play pretty much any game that's out right now at high detail.

If any of you could point out any compatibility issues that would be helpful as well. Also, if I need to buy any coolers or fans for this type of rig...or anything like that? No issues at all. Good 750 chipset supporting x16/x16 SLI. However, the 2 cards can't beat one GTX260 for less:

Also, not all games support SLI, in which case, the other card is not being utilized. = waste. Get the GTX260. The PSU is fine both either scenario.

Looks a little pricey. Dont think you're getting good value on your HD, Mobo or processor. Think you should be able to get a quad core for that price. Also the DVD burner is not SATA, and your missing a DVD reader.

Faster processor , better gfx, more storage on a faster drive , not being phased out , room to expand the gfx later , and the RAM is a really nice color

The 650TX can handle two HD 4890 cards, but the Corsair or Silverstone 750W are more appropriate IMO and won't need molex-to-PCI-E adapters for Crossfire.

I'd avoid that P5N-D. Look at the user reviews at Newegg. I usually like Asus, but that particular model is nowhere near their best.

actually the silverstone's do because they only come with one or no PCIe 8 pin connectors which is a real trade off.

That Silverstone I linked has four 6-pin connectors, and that's all you need for HD 4890 Crossfire. But yeah, I'd prefer the 750TX to the Silverstone too, even if it's a few bucks more. It's been around longer and there are lots of good reviews around.

no because the 4890's use a single 8 pin each.

there's a modular Hiperformance that he could get which is 780w and comes with 4x 8pins but I don't know how much or if you can even get them in the states.

You must be looking at some weird flavor of HD 4890, or a typo. I picked 5 at random here and they all want two connectors with 6 pins each. When they say 2 x 6 pin that's two connectors with 6 pins each, it's not the same as "2+6 pin"

hmm maybe it was just the pre-sale models since I distinctly remember that they were 8 pin.

and I don't really go on Newegg because I live in the U.K.

damn, you know someone's going to find it hard if they want a quadfire build with 4890's.
