Hi lads,

looking for an air cooler to use in my Thermaltake V3 Black Edition case with my amd 560 Black edition cpu.

The plan is to try unlock the cpu and also hope to overclock it.

Anyone any ideas what the best cooler would be? would prefer not to spend any more than 35 pound but if you think something more expensive would suit better, please mention it.

Thanks for all input on this,
Dave

Hi dewire and welcome to Tom's forum.

A very good option that fit in your case is the CM Hyper 212+, but if you want something better Titan Fenrir is very good too.

the case is 190mm wide... should be able to take coolers upto 160mm easily without the side fan on top of the cpu... hyper 212+ should do the job but i remember a couple of posters earlier complaining that they couldn't close the case properly because of the heatpipes touching the side... the official site also lists the max height of the cooler to be not more than 137mm in height (but thats with the side fan installed so thats an extra 25mm to be added if no side fan)...

137 mm will lock out a lot of the better coolers:

The hyper 212 has slipped outta benchmarkreviews Top 23 but it's also 159mm high

Looking at low profile cooler, ya might look at the Prolimatech Samuel 17
http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/3364/prolimatech_samue...

which is only 45mm high and costs 35.20 pounds:

here , it's 35.90 incl VAT
