Hitachi Travelstar 5K250 (250 GB, 5,400 RPM)

I am almost positive that this is the HDD that microsoft uses in their xbox. If I were to purchase one and throw it in, will it work or does it need some kind of formatting first?

A new drive will need to be formatted.

Thanks for your replies. If anyone would know of a way to get one formatted would be cool and as far as shooting for a better one, it is the HDD that Microsoft uses. And it is affordable
