I am running an Asus M$N72-E Motherboard with a AMD II 940 x4 processor After updating the BIOS I went to the hardware monitor and found out that my chip set (750a SLi) is running at 80c. Is that a normal temp? or should I be worried

It's possible. You can gently touch the heatsink after powering down, and see how warm it is. I usually find the temp monitors off if the temps are that high. I wouldn't remove the chipset heatsink while you are under warranty. I'm seeing alot of posts lately about folks who move or tamper with their boards which can cause their own problems. If everything else is running well, you may be better off leaving it alone.
