It's not a big deal but you might want to look at other thermal compound choices besides AS-5;
Hareware Logic Thermal Compound review - Arctic Cooling MX-2 and OCZ Freeze look pretty good.

I am curious why you would opt for an i7 system and only go with the GTX 260 and 22" 1680 x 1050 LCD. That's like putting 15" tires on a Ferrari.

I do video editing so its not just for games, so I wanted the I7 for that and mainly cost considerations for the 22 and GTX 260. I was thinking 24" at same res and I am pretty sure for what I have seen that the 260 will drive most games on high quality. Going to wait a bit for the newer cards to drop down a bit... then swap this card to my sons comp and get a new one.

If you've got some cost effective alternatives let me know... budget smudget.... just dont tell the wife right? :)

I appreciate the thermal compound info... I think I may swap that out... AS5 is just what I am used to.

If you already have AS-5 no reason to get a replacement- it's still a high quality item. But if you need to get some thermal compound you'll like how much easier MX-2 or OCZ Freeze is to apply.

nah I dont have any AS5 on hand so I will grab something else off the list. Well sounds good then... making my purchase tomorrow. thanks everyone... I will be back to give an update on the Ocing and what not...
