2 Cards on one PSB

SOrry about this recent increase in topic by me but i dont like getting off topic in my threads so i'll ask here. I'm looking at either the 4850 X2 or the 4870 X2 (depending on my budget) and i was wondering what are the disadvantages of Crossfire on a single board? i like this because its a Xfire solution without having the two slots but would they be bottlenecked by my PCIe x16 port? Also, do they work exactly like xfire cards where the game needs to be optimized for xfire to improve performance?

It will bottleneck it, I cant say exactly how much. It would vary from game to game.

would it be bottlenecked enough that you would advise against getting a X2 card?
