Just finished a budget build for a relative.

Athlon II X2 245
Gigabyte GA-MA785GPMT-UD2H Mobo
4GB DDR3-1333 G.Skill RAM
WD Caviar Black 1TB, Samsung DVD writer, 380W Antec EarthWatt, Antec NSK2480

For some reason, my BIOS reports I only have 3.5GB of RAM in the Stanard CMOS Config screen. I inserted both RAM modules individually and BIOS reported 1.7GB extended mem.
Can someone tell me why this may be? I'd like to use all 4GB of memory.

By default, your Radeon HD4200 graphics chip is set to use both the on-board 128MB DDR3 SidePort memory, and an automatically allocated piece of your main memory real estate - that's why you're 'missing' some... The settings are on the "Advanced BIOS Features" page of your BIOS, and are documented on page 47 of your manual.
