In the process of transferring RAM between my PC(s), i damaged slot DIMM-B1 on my P6TSE. I read in some forums that the pins can be bent/damaged, so with that in mind i scrutinized the pins in the DIMM slots and i noticed one was bent (i moved this one back in to place with a safety pin!) and there was also 1 pin missing! This pin must have broken off....i must have applied too much pressure, way too much pressure!
Instead of populating the recommended slots, i shifted the 2G ram around till i can get the bios to recognize it but the PC is suffering a drop in performance between 50% when i run CFD models on this set up! For same CFD model that took 106 hours to complete now takes 160 hours.
Any chance of getting this dimm slot replaced? or just buy another MB which will set me back about S$400/-! Darn I probably will live with this performance drop.
Thanks for input in advance.
