Hi all.

I recently bought an ASUS 4830 and a Gigabyte ep45-ud3p motherboard. I bought that specific mb with the expectation of buying another 4830 to set up in crossfire mode. I just found out that ASUS is no longer making the 4830, and NewEgg no longer sells it. I don't do anything that requires x-fire, I just want to set it up for the sake of experience. Should I buy a different brand 4830 for experimentation? Or, should I wait until I do further upgrading to my processor (currently, c2d e4300 oc'd to 3.15mhz) and buy a more recent graphics card (4870, 4890, or whatever is available at that time)?

Cheers,

AJT

I would leave it until you are upgrading your processor and cards again.

Amd have announced that they will be releasing a 1ghz factory OCed version of the 4890. i think you should wait for that.
