yeah, basically wanna ask if it will work, or if im stuck with upping the psu to the 450 corsair

ga g31 es2l
4 gigs ddr2 800 (2 sticks)
antec 300
e5200
caviar blue 320
ide dvd+rw
corsair 400cx

debating if id have to stick with a 4770/4850 or if i can get away with a 4870/gtx 260 with that psu

*consider a slight oc on the cpu, 3ghz with the stock cooler, and probably 3.3/3.6 when i get a freezer 7

if anyone got this to work gimme a rundown of your rig/settings, would really appreciate it

thanks

Neither the CX400 nor the VX450 have the required PCIe connectors, but either one is powerful enough for that system.

With an OC to 3.4GHz, 10% capacitor aging, the PSU calculator at http://www.extreme.outervision.com/PSUEngine shows 330W.

yeah, was using the same thing to test it out, and at 100% cpu and 100% system load @15% capacitor aging i was getting <380 watts even with the vcore at 1.25

anyway, thanks, was just making sure i didnt make anything pop :D

The 4870 needs two PCI-e plugs. My XFX came with 2 adapters. Another brand might not.
