I don't see that being a big issue, especially if the 4980x2 hits. They are doing great market wise right now, there really isn't is a need to fill in the market besides possibly a new high end which that card should give them.
It is 50% more SP's than the current 800. Jennyh is correct in that context
I'm not sure why one woudl use the context where 33% is corerct. Unless the sentence were "The new card will ahve to have 33% less SP's in order to be the same as teh old one." or "The current card have 33% less SP's as the upcoming cards."
Though neither is actually correct in a scientific view. The % difference is actually 40%.. Though indicating how many more, i.e solving for x in the expression OLD*(1+x) = New is certainly the normal context..
50% is correct. 800*150%=1200. Because it is stated as "50% more than the current generation", you have to use the current generation as your reference (100%) value.
Oh, and Daedalus, I'm not sure where you're getting 40% from, as that is incorrect in pretty much every context. You almost never would use the mean value as a reference in a case like this.

Why are you guys using formula (that's probably technically wrong) for this ? 800 on the currant card possibly 1200 on the new card. My kids can see that's half as many again or 50% increase.
