i have xfx 8200 matherboard w/amd 6000+ & 4gb at 800mhz & 500g hd, 750 psu

It depends on the resolution you are working at and also
What you are using it for.

For low resolutions (1280 by 1024) then a 4850 would be recommended
For high resolutions (1600 by 1200) and more then you could get a 4870 or GTX 285


But it all depends on your BUDGET.

A gtx 285 would be overkill, if you have the money get the gtx 260 c216 or 4870, if dont has as much, the 4850/gtx250/gtx9800+. look at benchmarks and consider how big of a monitor you will be playing at
