Hi, I am trying to put up a system.
I am going to get the Phenom II x4 940 cpu, and a single 4890 graphic card, I don't need CF or SLI.

I am buying parts from zipzoomfly.com or amazon.com. I can't buy from newegg.com because they charge tax.

Here is the link to zipzoomfly.com's MB section
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/powerSearch.jsp?SecondCategoryCode=1112&CategoryName=Motherboards

Can anyone suggest me a reliable board that will work with 940 and 4890?

Also as a side question, should I go with 4GB or 8GB memory, will it make a difference for watching HD movies and HD video editing?

Thanks

You wont get any performance difference from 4gb to 8gb. only the recommended usage is needed which is 4gb.

im sure 8gb would be good use if you do hella video/photo/c++/etc. making - work computer.

The Gigabyte UD4P 790gx would be the best board to go with on AM2+.

So to save you some money on the 8gb and switch to 4gb then dont look at the 780g's so you'll have enough for the 790gx gigabyte.

Which 790GX Gigabyte? Did you mean the 790X I linked earlier?

There's a 790GX made by Gigabyte that would also work well here, the GA-MA790GP-UD4H.

@OP:
The GA-MA790GP-UD4H is not available at zipzoomfly.

I think the 790X makes more sense for you because it's cheaper and you only lose the integrated graphics, which you don't need if you have a HD 4890.

A mid-ATX case should be fine, because the HD 4890 is only 9.5" long. Yes, the Corsair 650TX is plenty for that. It could even do Crossfire with HD 4890 if you change your mind about that later (or if you resell the PC and the buyer is a gamer)

Well x4 940 is out of stock right not a.t.m on newegg so there is no combo's and he doesnt want online due to tax.

to my honest opinion the 4890 isnt anything but an oc'd 4870.

The Vapor-X 4870 2gb would be a neat card to get instead of that 4890.

I was going to get this card but, decided that i wanted the gtx 285 on my ud3r for the cod 5 game.

But, im not sure a local store would have it.

790x would be fine if the store doesnt have the 790gx.

Not to mention Newegg has a 15% of promo code on Corsair psu's right now, which also would be double savings over the tax you would pay.

I'm about to buy a Corsair 850. What's that promo code?
