My monitor is BLACK I can log in but my desktop icon’s, taskbar and even desktop background picture is gone. I can see the cursor of my mouse and can open Task Manager via Ctrl+Alt+Del say’s that everything is working OK.

I was deleting unwanted file’s e.g. Old games, Files, Software (Nothing to do with Hardware programs etc via Disk Fragment Add+Remove Files and when I rebooted it started crapping out even in safe mode it doesn’t let me see the desktop so I’m thinking that it might be a BIOS or CMOS problem.

I’m running Vista atm so if you could think of anything that might work to help fix the problem I would LOVE to hear it.

PLEASE HELP ME ALL MY UNI WORK IS ON THAT COMPUTER AND I HAVE TO GET IT IN BY MONDAY 12 OCTOBER 2009 ( NEW ZEALAND TIME )

Register or log in to remove.

It looks like Disk Fragment Add+Remove Files (who provides that utility) might have deleted more files than you expected. You hopefully have a fairly recent backup of your files. If not, make a complete backup and then try to recover Vista. THis might be helpful: http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleID=2264

In Vista you can do a system restore. Reply here if you want me to tell you how.
