Hi!
Ive got a I7 950 CPU, a P6t Deluxe v2 mobo, a 5970 GPU from sapphire, a 1200W PSU, a antec 1200, a few 1333 mhz rams, a 120GB F120 Corsair SSD, and 2 1TB storage HDDs.
Im not overclocking anything yet. As im always greedy to upgrade and i do look for buying a new chassi,(corsair 800d is currently best option)
im looking for a watercooling system thats not too overkill, been reading up on tons of sites but no1 realy asks the question with this kind of system its either 980x overclocking to 4.0 GHerz and I5s. So i thought i shud

How big resorvoir is needed for this kind of system. Is there anything you should specifcly consider when putting it all togeather, Im not a pro on the kind of prodcuts out there, so examples on products would by a very welcome. Also, do i even need watercooling, and what parts are necessary accualy cooling (obv GPU and CPU) but how about Mosfet etc**
Any cons or corrections are welcome, tips and everything,
:bounce: Thx

Ok...we need to start from the beginning.

What is your budget?

What do you want to cool...CPU only or GPU as well?

How big resorvoir is needed for this kind of system.

You don't need a reservoir at all if you don't want one. Makes it easier to fill/purge air/maintain levels. Outside of that, its up to you.

Please read up...there are stickies around for a reason...they provide a TON of useful information on the questions you are asking.

This kit if you plan on just W/Cing the CPU :

http://www.frozencpu.com/products/11743/ex-wat-159/XSPC_Rasa_750_RS240_Universal_CPU_Water_Cooling_Kit_Hot_Item.html?tl=g30

This kit plus Waterblock if you want the 5970 included :

http://www.frozencpu.com/products/12222/ex-wat-162/XSPC_Rasa_750_RS360_Universal_CPU_Triple_Radiator_Water_Cooling_Kit_Hot_Item.html?tl=g30

The quick and easy answers :)

The 3x120 rad in the second Rasa kit would be pushing it alone with CPU+GPU, but doable.

Becoming an informed consumer will do nothing but benefit you in the long run.

First my budget isnt an option, but i still dont want to spend useless money on a preformence i wont use.

Then I'd advise reading up and making the choice for yourself.

Is it 'needed'? No. Is it a fun hobby that can net some great temps and look cool at the same time...yes. You could simply go with a good air cooler on the CPU and look for an aftermarket air cooler for the GPU. It's preference.

For WC...just a note...you don't really need/want waterblocks for the MOSFETS, NB, SB, RAM...they won't net you any overclocking potential with watercooling alone...and the blocks would cause a drop in flow rates in the loop.

I could put together a better "Custom" package for the OP but its going to cost twice as much.

I agree, there is better possible but at additional cost. The cooling performance would be decent with the bigger Rasa kit + GPU block added, but you could run the rad in push/pull to gain some additional head room on that setup.

arite thanx for VERY fast answers, but what are `smartcoils´ for?

Smart coils or kill coils?

If I am guessing right, the smart coils you are referring to might be the coils you add on the outside of tubing to help prevent kinking when making tight bends.

Kill coils are a pure silver coil that you can add to your res to prevent algae from growing. Often used along with PTNuke or biocide and distilled water. Coolants will not perform better than water. Use caution...Feser 1 coolant is known to precipitate and clog blocks under heavy use.

http://www.frozencpu.com/products/9...ckets_77511561366_On_Sale_.html?tl=g30c85s139 Apogee block $70
http://www.petrastechshop.com/xsrxtr12ra.html XSPC 320 rad $85, Swiftechs are cheaper.
http://www.frozencpu.com/products/1...d_Cooling_Block_GPU-6899.html?tl=g30c309s1072 5970 DD block $120

$391. Not including 120mm fans (your choice, check Skinnee's link below for comparions), killcoil ($6), or biocide/PTnuke ($4)...

Try to find some prices other than FrozenCPU...they have a ton of stuff, but its higher priced than you can find elsewhere.

Go to siderwindercomputers or performance-PCS, have better price that Frozen CPU.

Regarding the CPU WB, EK supreme or Koolance 360 are better that Swiftech. Thermochill for radiators and MCP655-D for pump.

For GPU WB, EK supreme too.

Don't forget the fittings for the blocks.

Just IMO

^I love them...ordered my very first Swiftech kit from there. If I can't find it anywhere else, I go there. They have a TON of WC stuff.

BTW - That DD block is nasty looking
Nasty...as in badass or nasty in ...omfg I wouldn't even use that to club baby seals, it's so ugly.

Agreed...just doing a low-cost, budget build as comparison.

Most blocks come with fittings (make sure to check, though), either 3/8 or 1/2...sometimes both. Of course, unless you want compression fittings or some fatboys...

EK Supreme doesn't comes with it, mine is a EK Supreme HF Full nickel with Bitspower 1/2" ID x 3/4" OD and a Swiftech MCR420-QP with the same pump that I say above. Of course with Silver KillCoils by iandh on reversoir.
