Memery running 626 and not 1333

Assuming you have DDR3 memory, 626 would equal 1252. Dual Data Rate

This likely means your bus is overclocked and the memory recognized as 533 is being overclocked with it - but I'm not sure.

^ No, DDR/DDR2/DDR3 do not run at the speeds given, only respectively. For example, a DDR2 "800Mhz" Ram is infact running at around 266Mhz on the FSB.

It's like GPU clocks, they say "1800Mhz" but its true speed runs at around "700Mhz."

Basicly, don't worry. You have 1333Mhz ram.

Well when i try to over clock it locks up and i think its because its getting hot im running stock thermal past and heat sink. Do u think i should upgrade the fan and thermal paste? If i do need to which fan and thermal paste is good? I have a gigabyte 790xt ud4p. im still running xp 32 bit :( I need to get vista 64 bit so i can get free Windows 7 :)

Hey, you're slipping. A period and 2 questions marks in that last post - much easier to read.

LOL at thermal paste - some studies show peanut butter works as well. But get what makes you feel better.

Yes, you need a good CPU cooler to overclock - even to run the programs to stress your cpu in testing it.

The most likely reason your system is locking up when you try to overclock is because you're overclocking - nothing to do with heat. There's lots of locking up and rebooting involved in trying to overclock. The heat comes from testing after you've overclocked mainly.

Lots of coolers out there - need to find one that works well with your cpu and fits in your case. I'm happy with mine by Scythe.

The rifle looks fine, just make sure you have room for it! It's a big-un. I guess ante'c 5 is Artic Silver 5?

I'm no expert on OC stuff. Mine was simple because simple controls are what my board has. Still know nothing about altering the NB and such or raising bus speed. If I raise my bus speed more than 5%, the world falls in.

And keep in mind, I know nothing of GPUs.... I'm using the built-in graphics on my board and have cut down the mem devoted to it from 512 to 128... my needs are simple

ASUS FTW!!! MSI should be the last brand on your list, not that there not good, It's just I've had my experiances with MSI boards. Asus, Gigabtye etc etc are all supurb boards.
