Recently I've upgraded the following components:

Processor: Core 2 Quad 9400

Graphics Card: Sapphire ATI Radeon 4890 1 GB

RAM: 2 GB Transcend 800 MHz

Motherboard: 750i SLI Nvidia Geforce

PSU: 750W Thermaltake

PC Case: Thermaltake Xaser VI Full tower

I already have Monitor which is 17 inch and using operating system XP SP 2. Is all components matched with each other or there any mismatching ? Is graphics card overkill for 17 inch monitor? Core 2 Quad 9400 requires Vista 64 bit SP 1. But I'm using XP SP 2. Should I install vista for better performance ?

Time for a bigger monitor my friend. 22" or 24" :)

I couldn't imagine gaming on a 17". I game right now on a 32" Lcd :)

Ha ha ha, but is there any problem of having 17 inch monitor with Sapphire ATI Radeon 4890 1 GB. Is all other components are OK?

you could probably max almost any game at 1080p resolution (i have a single 4870) with a 4890, so i would get a new monitor

you can get an ASUS 23.6" 1080p 2ms monitor from newegg for ~$200

though i have to ask why did you get an ati card with an nvidia sli chipset

you could use 2 more gigs of ram.

... and a bigger monitor. seriously.

there is no such thing as matching video cards to monitors btw - total BS, i dunno why everyone tries matching it up when a new game comes out your rig may not pull off the same thing etc

The reason is why have a 4890 to game on a 17" monitor... a 4850 will max out any games at that res.

You said "though i have to ask why did you get an ati card with an nvidia sli chipset[/quotemsg]". Are indicating that ati card will mismatch with nvidia sli chip because they are competing with each other in market? Should I have got Nvidia Geforce card for this motherboard?

Reply to nahid08

hes saying, why did you bother getting a motherboard with SLI if you were just going to get an ATI card anyway.

you could have gotten a cheaper (and better) motherboard that didnt support sli.

u need 2gb more ram, the 4890 is really good for 1280x1024 the quad does not require vista, wait for win7 if ur happy on xp stick with it the cpu wont work better with vista or 7
