Cant type in wordpad

I can open Wordpad and put my cursor inside the typing area, and begin to type...the typing does not appear in Wordpad...and sometimes it does the same thing in Notepad...however; typing in MS Office Word is fine.

That could be a blessing, as both wordpad & notepad are so basic, they don't have all features that a doc processor should have, like auto save, incremental saves. Use the more sophiscated ones, expecially if you are working with large documents.
